The village Unterterzen belongs to the municipality Quarten. It is situated at 500 m above sea level directly on the beautiful Lake Walen. Due to its unique location between the lake and the mountains, Unterterzen and the immediate surroundings are a very popular vacation destination. The area is situated in the foothills of the Alps. Parts of the region belong to the ski region Flumserberg and the well-known vacation region Heidiland. Visitors experience a variety of sporting and cultural leisure activities here. Water sports activities, cycling, hiking or snow sports activities in the winter months, almost every wish can be fulfilled here. The headquarters of the Schiffsbetrieb Walensee AG is located in Unterterzen.
