Schwende-Rüte
Schwende-Rüte is a district in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. It consists of a large number of scattered settlements and 6 villages. These include Brülisau, Wasserauen, Schwende and Weissbad. The eastern part of the Alpstein, the eastern part of Appenzell as well as the Innerrhoden part of the Säntis mountains are also included. At Schwende there is a pilgrimage chapel with an image of grace from the 17th century. From Brülisau you can reach the Hoher Kasten by cable car. (Photo: Switzerland Tourism, Christof Sonderegger)
