“The stunning views and dinner on the boat.”
Emmetten
Emmetten is situated in an elevated position on a pre-Alpine terrace above the southern shore of Lake Lucerne. The Cholbach river crosses Emmetten from south to north and flows into Lake Lucerne. The village with about 1500 inhabitants is situated at 774 m above sea level, whereby the highest point with the peak Schwalmis reaches up to 2246 m above sea level. The four-hour wildlife observation trail from Emmetten with the route Niederbauen - Stockhütte - Heitliberg - Klewenalp is recommended for hiking enthusiasts. A mountain railroad leads from Emmetten directly to Niederbauen Kulm (1923 m above sea level). Paragliding flights like to take off from here. From Emmetten a gondola lift takes you to the Stockhütte (mountain station 1284 m above sea level). Together with Klewenalp, Stockhütte offers a family-friendly skiing area with 9 km of toboggan run in winter.
