Champéry is a village at 1050 m above sea level in the French-speaking Valais. It is located in the middle of the huge ski resort Portes du Soleil. The village is one of the oldest tourist resorts in Switzerland. It has a variety of restaurants, bars and stores in the middle of the mountains. Worth seeing is a bell foundry in the village, which is still in operation today. A 40 m high limestone cliff with various climbing routes provides sporting variety. Most of the cable staff were confused with this app/ticket, only one out of six knew to scan the QR code with a different app, the rest let us through the barrier with a couple of them saying we should have had a paper or different sort of ticket. No extra cost etc. but be warned. Waitress in the restaurant didn't recognise the ticket either so had to check with a manager but all good in the end. Meat and cheese board for 2 people as expected - four different ones of each, a couple of pieces of cheese, four slices of each meat.”
