Stein AR
Stein AR is located in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden on a slight but panoramic hill. The municipality also includes numerous individual farms and scattered settlements. The rivers Sitter and Urnäsch flow around the village. Stein is famous for the Appenzell show dairy located here. An experience tour of the cheese dairy is particularly aimed at families. Tradition and customs still characterize the village today. In the Appenzell Folklore Museum, the focus is on Appenzell alpine dairy culture as well as farm and furniture painting.
