Description
Take the underground funicular to Sunnegga and from there the cable car to Blauherd, where the 5-hour hike on the circular trail to the lakes Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee and Leisee begins. All five mountain lakes differ in shape and color. Lake Leisee is a popular swimming lake.
You can see the Matterhorn as a reflection in three of the five lakes. Provided, of course, that the Matterhorn is not shrouded in clouds and the water on the lakes is calm. All around the magnificent nature with the mountain giants in the background offers further beautiful photo motifs. The funicular takes us back to Zermatt in the afternoon.

Swiss Activities Tip
After the hike you might come back to Zermatt very hungry. Not far from the train station you will find the restaurant Rosstal, which opens daily at 16:00. On two floors there is room for 50 guests to enjoy specialties from the alpine region. The particularly rustic ambience is sure to make you linger here a little longer.
