Herisau is a village with urban character in Appenzell Ausserrhoden. The center has factory houses worth seeing and its alleys are reminiscent of an old town. Herisau lies on the Glatt and on the Way of St. James between Rorschach and Einsiedeln. St. Gallen is about 10 km away to the northeast.The sights also include covered wooden bridges in the Kubel, Hundwilertobel and Wissenbachtobel. There is also a puppet theater museum and a cultural trail through Herisau. On the latter, architectural peculiarities or pretty details are discovered.
