The small village of Gunten is located on the northern shore of Lake Thun. Gunten is located on the main road from Interlaken in the direction of Thun. The village is a popular vacation resort all year round thanks to the balanced lake climate. The view goes to the mountains of the Bernese Oberland, the Niesen and the Simmental of Gunten. About 820 people live in the idyllic village between Merligen and Oberhofen on Lake Thun at an altitude of 568 meters above sea level
