Description

This cave expedition takes you through the stunning Hölloch. Experience underground waterfalls, natural cave slides, and spectacular rock formations! One of the world’s largest cave systems lies right in the dreamy Muotathal: the Hölloch. On this tour, discover part of the cave system, which extends over 200 kilometres, and be mesmerised by rock formations and beautiful stalactites.

A qualified guide leads you through this underground climbing paradise, sharing fascinating facts about the cave and its origin. You’ll also get to know the cave’s fauna by observing a cave crayfish. At the Hölloch restaurant, you and your group will meet your certified cave guide at 09:99. Over a tasty croissant and a hot drink, you’ll discuss the tour.

First, you’ll be equipped with the necessary gear for the expedition and given important information on safety and conduct. Your journey starts at the cave entrance and follows the vast main passage to the Giant Hall. From there, the climb to Dombiwak begins. You traverse ropes, ladders, and bridges under the professional guidance of your cave guide. You’ll reach the 30-metre-high underground waterfall "Wasserdom." From here, you continue to the new Hölloch bivouac and then to the beautiful Glitzertor with its shimmering crystals. Before exiting the cave, you'll tackle the so-called "Snake," a 300-metre-long natural stone slide. This fun descent brings you back to the Giant Hall and then to the surface. After ascending to Dombiwak, you can take a short break and enjoy your lunch.
