Description
In the basic watchmaking course, you get to know how a mechanical watch movement works. Using an open Unitas pocket watch movement, you'll identify gears, springs, screws, and bridges. Under expert guidance, you dismantle the movement and put it back together. Through this, you see how energy and motion eventually translate into seconds, minutes, and hours.
Afterward, at the workbench, you create your own personal Züri-Date. You choose the version and assemble the individual parts with support from experienced watchmakers. A personalized engraving on the rotor completes your mechanical wristwatch. By prior arrangement, you can also assemble a different model instead of the Züri-Date.
The watchmaker workshop takes place in a historic building—an extremely unique watch atelier.
