Maienfeld
Maienfeld is a village situated at 504 m above sea level in Heidiland. It is surrounded by vineyards and lies at the foot of the mountain Falknis, which reaches 2560 m above sea level. In Maienfeld there is the Heidi village, which preserves the history and the tradition of the Heidi myth. The Heidi stories were set here and the houses in the Heidi village are furnished as they were in 1880. As an important part of the Graubünden dominion and the local winegrowing, Maienfeld is very often visited by international guests. Also worth seeing are the old town with the old town wall, the Amandus church and the castles Salenegg and Brandis. The oak forest above the settlement of Bovel is a natural monument.

“Perfect for beginners and the first canyoning adventure. We had a lot of fun—a fantastic guided tour through the gorge with stunning nature and impressively tall cliffs. Highly recommended! And watch out for the meeting point! Don’t follow the Google link on this page.”
