Cugnasco-Gerra lies at 225 m above sea level and is located on the northern edge of the Magadino plain in Ticino. The river Ticino flows through the southernmost tip of the village. About 3000 people live in Cugnasco-Gerra. The suburb of Cugnasco is situated between Locarno and Bellinzona, and both places can be reached in less than 15 minutes by car. Lake Maggiore is even only 10 minutes away from Cugnasco by car. Cultural monuments of Cugnasco-Gerra are the parish church of San Giuseppe and the Cave of Sciarana with its fresco. In Cignasco-Gerra there are also still typical farmhouses of past centuries.
