Swiss Activities Tip

The nicer view is when you're coming from Schaffhausen, it's on the left side. You can see directly onto Lake Constance. If you're coming from Romanshorn, you should better sit on the right side.

On the go with a wheelchair

  • The trains of the SBB increasingly have low-floor entrances (marked with NF in the schedule).
  • The SBB Callcenter Handicap organizes assistance when changing trains, where platforms have not been raised and floors have not been leveled yet. It helps you prepare for barrier-free travel or when you need help while on the go.

On the road with the dog

  • Bringing small dogs up to 30 cm is free, as long as they stay in a transport container the whole time. This needs to be pushed under your seat.
  • Dogs without a container and all dogs over 30 cm shoulder height need a valid dog ticket: half price of the 2nd class or the minimum fare (dog day pass, dog pass). They need to sit under the seat so that the aisle isn't blocked for other travelers.
