Foiling on the Rhine behind the motorboat in Basel
Highlights
- Let the motorboat pull you on a towline
- Appear to float with the board above the water surface
- Enjoy the speed above the water
- Experience the indescribable feeling of floating above the water
Description
On a boat trip, several people come along to experience a hydrofoiling session one after the other. A session lasts about 15 minutes. At least two sessions must be booked for the boat to start. Please allow a total of 1.5 to 2.5 hours.
During hydrofoiling, you stand on a board and are pulled by a towline. The foil under the board moves upwards and makes you appear to float above the surface of the water.
Swiss Activities Tip
The Marina Basel restaurant is located near the Regioport marina. It is located directly on the banks of the Rhine and offers a beautiful view of the river and the harbor. The restaurant is known for its international cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. It's a nice place to relax and have a bite to eat after your foil experience.
What is a hydrofoil?
A hydrofoil is a hydrofoil that is located under a board in the water. Technically, it is designed in a similar way to an airplane wing. It provides lift from a certain speed. It continues to move upwards until you appear to be floating above the water on the board.
