Description

The yellow GrindelwaldBus takes you to the sun terrace Bussalp in 35 minutes.

Route:

The bus stops at the following stations:

  • Grindelwald Bahnhof (Start)
  • Grindelwald, Tuftbach (Stop only for boarding)
  • Grindelwald, Gaggi Säge (Stop only for boarding)
  • Grindelwald, Oberäll
  • Grindelwald, Weidli
  • Grindelwald, Lochsteinen
  • Bussalp (Destination)

From here, you can reach several sledding trails. Please make sure to check independently beforehand whether your desired sledding route is open:

Big Pintenfritz

To start the longest sledding route, you must first hike up to the Faulhorn. Then the ride goes from the Faulhorn over the Bussalp down to Grindelwald Oberäll. The view includes Schreckhorn, Wetterhorn, and Eiger.

City Run

This route starts at the Bussalp and takes you down to Grindelwald Weidli.

  • 5.4 km sledding route
  • 0:30 hrs sledding ride

Family Run

The ride begins at the Bussalp and leads over Holzmatten and Rasthysi to Lochsteinen. Along the way, there are sections for hiking.

  • 4.5 km sledding route
  • 0:40 hrs sledding ride

At Bussalp, you will also find a snow park that is especially ideal for families with small children. The snow park also offers snow tubes. The sledding track here is about 300 m long.

Approximately from the 4th week of December until about the 3rd week of March

Sledding path with oncoming traffic

At times, you must expect oncoming traffic from hikers and buses on the sledding path. When shuttle buses come, please stop and step off your sled at the side of the path. If multiple vehicles are following one after the other, the first vehicle will honk. The last vehicle will drive with hazard lights on.

Swiss Activities Tip

You can find restaurants in several places in the sledding area:

  • Bussalp (1800 m above sea level): Restaurant Bussalp (100 seats plus 50 seats on the sun terrace)
  • Rasthysi (1552 m above sea level): small café with 12 indoor seats ("Cheese Barbecue", kettle soup, various types of coffee)
  • Weidli (1240 m above sea level): small bar

Important information
  • Check the timetable on the SBB website or app on your travel day. The ticket cannot be refunded if you miss the last bus.
  • Make sure the toboggan runs are open. If your desired toboggan run is closed due to lack of snow, you can cancel the ticket free of charge up to 24 hours before.
  • With GA and Swiss Travel Pass, the half-fare tariff applies
