Description
Sledging is a great snow activity for young and old. In the region around Grindelwald, there is a large selection of possible runs. The Jungfrau Eiger Run is definitely one of the most unique. The route offers you everything from exciting steep sections to fantastic views of the north face of the Eiger and the wintry Alpine panorama.
Board the Wengernalp Railway in Grindelwald and let it take you through the wintry landscape to Kleine Scheidegg. Once at the top, the fun descent begins. The route consists of two sections. On the first section, you ride with the north face of the Eiger behind you all the way to Alpiglen. This is also the steepest part of the route with a gradient of up to 36%. From Alpiglen, you ride back to Grindelwald at a leisurely pace.
Practical information:
- This activity is not a guided tour!
- The descent to Alpiglen takes about 30 minutes. You should allow a total of 1:00 to 1:25 hours for the descent.
- In general, children are also allowed to sledge down the Eiger Run (sledge run 64) if they are experienced sledgers.
Swiss Activities Tip
On selected days of the year, you can also ride the Eiger Run at night. Night sledging is a unique experience that you won't forget in a hurry. To take part, all you need is a "Jungfrau Eiger Run evening ticket". After the thrilling descent, you can warm up again with a hot drink in one of the many mountain huts.
