Your journey starts either in Müstair or Tirano. From Müstair, the postal bus of route 821 initially travels through the Monastery Valley and along the Umbrail Pass. This route is a panoramic express.
At the Stelvio (Stilfser Joch), you have reached 2757 meters above sea level at the second-highest mountain pass in the Alps. The view of the switchbacks descending to Bormio is as stunning as the sight of the mountains.
This direct connection is available only once per day in each direction. Therefore, we recommend not to disembark on this stretch. You can return from Oberengadin or Tirano by the Rhaetian Railway, which runs regularly throughout the day.
