Description
Enjoy complete peace and quiet and magnificent views of the Matterhorn on a guided hike through the Lost Valley above Zermatt. Meet your hiking guide at 09:00 at the Sunnegga Express bottom station in Zermatt. Your guide will explain everything you need to know for the hike.
After taking the funicular up to Sunnegga station, you’ll set off on a circular hike to the Lost Valley. The 250-metre-long valley is not signposted anywhere, and only confident map readers or people with a guide can find this magical spot. Enjoy the seclusion while you’re here, where time stands still.
The valley is home to unique flora. Discover rare plants growing on the lateral moraines and among the alpine grasses. It’s the perfect spot to take a few photos. At the end of the valley, you can photograph the Matterhorn in the background, or capture the view from the lateral moraine across the green valley and its meandering river. In the afternoon, take the train from Sunnegga mountain station back to Zermatt after your hike.
