Boat ticket between Lugano and Gandria
You take a boat trip across Lake Lugano between Lugano and Gandria.
Gandria is a place very close to Lugano. It clings to the steep slope of Monte Brè, known as Switzerland's sunniest mountain. Worth seeing is the Church of St. Vigilio. In the Gandria vineyards district, you can visit the Swiss Customs Museum in summer. It is part of the Swiss National Museum and is housed in an old border guard post.
Suitable for wheelchair users
Suitable for strollers
Dogs under 30 cm shoulder height travel free in the container; otherwise, a half ticket for second class is required.

Tour groups get priority when boarding, so all the best seats are already taken. I assume tour groups also pay less than solo travelers.
Hi Heinrich, Thanks a lot for your feedback and the rating. On the Lugano–Gandria boat route, seats are generally allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. Larger travel groups sometimes board together, which might temporarily give the impression that they’re getting priority. However, there is no preference given in terms of seat allocation or other conditions compared to solo travellers. Prices are the same for all guests – whether travelling alone or in a group. We understand that it’s disappointing when you can’t get one of your preferred seats. Despite this experience, we really hope to welcome you back to Swiss Activities soon. Best regards, Your Swiss Activities Team

The ferry service was not direct as it makes 4-5 stops prior to arriving in Gandria. My wife and I arrived to the small dock to await lines of people trying to onboard. We immediately had to climb steep steps only to see a few restaurants and old church. Not much to see here, but the restaurants were very nice. I would recommend taking either bus or taxi service to the area for a nice dinner or lunch. We originally were booked to stay several hours, however, with the limited sights to see and explore we ended coming back on the very next ferry service. It was certainly not worth the 79 Swiss Franks charged to this experience. If you want to go by ferry, just go an pay at the entrance booth the day of, probably only a fraction on what we paid.
