Description
This day pass grants you unlimited travel in the Aletsch Arena. The family-friendly Aletsch Arena is located in Valais, close to the famous Aletsch Glacier. At 20 km, it is the longest glacier in the Alps, stretching from Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau to Valais.
The three car-free Alpine resorts—Bettmeralp, Riederalp, and Fiescheralp—offer you a peaceful escape and stunning views into the valley.
Viewpoints:
- Eggishorn: the highest viewpoint at 2869 m above sea level. Reach it from Fiesch via Fiescheralp.
- Bettmerhorn: at an altitude of 2647 m above sea level, this viewpoint provides a cosy opportunity to admire the glacier from the Panorama Restaurant. It is wheelchair accessible and ideal for strollers and wheelchair users.
- Hohfluh: at 2227 m above sea level, offering views of the remarkable curves of the glacier.
- Moosfluh: at 2333 m above sea level, offering a view of the Aletsch Glacier.
Mountain railway routes:
- From Fiesch to Fiescheralp and Eggishorn
- From the Bettmeralp valley station (in Grengiols) to Bettmeralp and Bettmerhorn
- From Mörel to Riederalp (including trips to Hohfluh and Moosfluh viewpoints)
Additional facilities:
- Wurzenbord chairlift: from Bettmeralp, winter trips by chairlift to Wurzenbord are available.
- Riederalp West - Hohfluh chairlift (operates during peak season from mid-July to mid-August)
- Riederalp Middle - Moosfluh chairlift
- Mörel-Betten train line and station-Fiesch-Fürgangen section: trains quickly connect the valley.
The Riederalp West - Hohfluh extension operates only during summer in peak season (mid-August).

Swiss Activity Tip
A total of five suspension bridges are available here for a hiking highlight with a bit of adrenaline. The bridges:
- Goms-Bridge suspension bridge - open all year
- Belalp-Riederalp suspension bridge - open until the end of October
- Aspi-Titter suspension bridge - open until October
- Small Bodmer Bridge suspension bridge - open until October
- Small Masse suspension bridge
The Aletsch Arena is a nature conservation area and UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the information centre “Pro Natura” (at Riederfurka, Riederalp), you can learn everything about the organisation and book exhibitions, courses, and excursions.

Important information
- Check the timetables on the Aletscharena website on your travel day before you go, and make sure the lifts you want to use are running. Scheduled maintenance alternates regularly. You cannot cancel the activity afterwards if you couldn’t use it due to maintenance.
- The Explorer Pass is not valid for skiing or sledging.

We had a lovely day, but the friendliness in Fiesch left something to be desired when I asked about the digital ticket, which I had chosen myself at home. We're still a bit unsure. I expected patience and friendliness at the counter. Other than that, everything was great 👍

Clean cabins, a continuous timetable, and friendly, helpful staff. An impressive arena with numerous well-marked hiking trails!
