From Zurich: Day trip to Lucerne and Bürgenstock

It is not surprising that Lucerne is among the most beautiful and charming cities in Switzerland. After all, it is a jewel of medieval architecture, full of sights and cultural attractions. A short boat ride away from the city, you will find the famous Bürgenstock Resort. During this day trip, you have the opportunity to explore Lucerne and its surroundings.

In the morning at 9:30 am, you board the modern coach in Zurich and are greeted by the tour guide. A modern coach takes you comfortably to Lucerne. En route, you can enjoy the picturesque Swiss landscape passing by the windows. The tour guide provides information about the history and traditions.

Next, there is an orientation drive through Lucerne. The tour guide points out the main attractions, including the richly decorated Jesuit Church and the Chapel Bridge. Afterwards, you will have plenty of time to explore Lucerne on your own. Wander through the alleys of the Old Town or visit one of the many cosy cafés.

Refreshed, you continue individually to Lake Lucerne. You will transfer by the modern Bürgenstock shuttle to Kehrsiten. From there, you will take the famous Bürgenstock funicular railway. This vintage cable car takes you up to the Bürgenstock. Famous guests like Charlie Chaplin, Audrey Hepburn, and Sean Connery have visited this place in the past.

Upon arrival, you have the option to take a simple hike. There are plenty of trails here. Alternatively, you can stop at one of the traditional inns and enjoy the breathtaking views.

In the late afternoon, you return via the funicular railway and boat to Lucerne, where the coach awaits to take you back to Zurich.
