Biel/Bienne Christmas Market 2026

The Biel/Bienne Christmas market runs from 3 to 24 December in 2026 and fills the Nidaugasse over more than 300 metres. Around 80 exhibitors sell mostly handmade goods in decorated huts. It is open Mon–Wed and Fri 11:00–19:00, Thu until 20:00, Sat 09:00–18:00 and Sun 10:00–18:00, and on 24 December 10:00–17:00. According to Schweiz Tourismus, it is the largest Christmas market in the region.

The decorated huts line the Nidaugasse pedestrian zone, the shopping street in the centre. Artists, craftspeople and market traders offer mostly handmade goods, plus specialities from the region and from further afield. The Burgergemeinde log cabin serves forest specialities.

Without a car
From Biel/Bienne station about 10 minutes on foot along Bahnhofstrasse to Zentralplatz, where Nidaugasse begins. Many buses also stop there.
