Artigiani in Borgo, the Christmas market of the craftspeople, takes place on Saturday 5 December 2026, from 11:00 to 20:00 in the lanes of the Borgo; the organiser is the Associazione Manifestazioni Ascona. The restaurants and bars offer Christmas specialities, and live music plays on several corners. From 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027 Ascona is part of Winterland for the first time, with an ice trail on the lakeside promenade and the Lake Dome on Piazza Torre.

Winterland Ascona

Artigiani in Borgo is open only on 5 December, 11:00–20:00.
Stay until the evening
It gets dark from about 17:00. Then the roughly 30 façades in the Borgo that Winterland lights up artistically begin to glow.
Without a car
From Locarno station take bus 1 to «Ascona, Centro» (12 minutes), then walk about 5 minutes to the Borgo.
Christmas train to Locarno
During Winterland a little Christmas train connects Ascona and Locarno, where the ice rink stands on Piazza Grande.
