"Vesper-Tröckli" with 5 different types of Appenzeller® cheese
When you enter the Appenzeller® show dairy, you will receive a "Vesper-Tröckli" with 5 different types of Appenzeller® cheese for tasting.
You will not only be informed about the production of the famous cheese. Right at the start, you can take a 360° look at the Appenzellerland through binoculars. There is a lovely playground for children with swings, a trampoline, a see-saw, a turntable and a large cheese house with a climbing wall. The house mouse "Chäsli Jakob" also accompanies the children through the exhibition.
You can smell the spices for the spicy Appenzeller® cheese and put together your own mix to take home. Of course, you can also watch the cheese being made, look into the huge cheese vat and marvel at the huge cheese cellar.
Your visit to the Schaukäserei® will be accompanied by the sounds of nature in the Appenzellerland.
Practical information:
The municipality of Stein is known as the "pearl" of Appenzellerland. The "Perlenweg" is a puzzle trail through the pretty village. Puzzles have to be solved at 12 points. The little dairyman "Steini" accompanies you. The pearl trail starts at the show dairy.

It should be mentioned that the real cheese dairy is only interesting until midday, I’d say until 1:00 PM; after that, you only see the cleaning. For this, the entrance fee becomes too high, even though it’s not very expensive. But until 3:00 PM is not accurate. The herb mills were broken and unappetizing. The cheese is more expensive than abroad, even though there are no transportation costs on-site!? Really a shame. The staff is extremely friendly! A pity A pity
