Description

This winter getaway combines an overnight stay in one of the best-known mountain huts above Verbier with a paragliding flight. Cabane Mont Fort sits at 2,456 m in the heart of the ski area and welcomes you with a warm atmosphere, delicious food and sweeping views of the Valais Alps.

Take the gondola to Les Gentianes, then make your way to the hut on skis or a snowboard. In the evening, soak up the mountain atmosphere and enjoy a delicious dinner before spending the night in the hut.

The next morning, enjoy breakfast with a view of the mountains, then take off with a professional tandem pilot from Sam Air. Depending on the weather, you’ll set off directly from the hut or from a nearby launch site. Glide for around 20 minutes over the alpine landscape around Verbier before landing in Le Châble, close to the gondola and car park. It’s an experience for anyone who wants to combine the mountains, great food and the freedom of flying.

Important information

  • You must be confident skiing or snowboarding on open pistes to reach the hut and descend the next day
  • Meeting point at Cabane Mont Fort: take the gondola to Les Gentianes, then ski or snowboard downhill for around 10 to 30 minutes
  • No sleeping bag needed; fresh bed linen is provided
  • Bring warm clothing and ski goggles or a face mask
  • The provider will agree the flight day and time with you after booking; the start time can be changed by arrangement with the provider
