Dementia: information afternoon
Datas
Sobre este local
This offer is aimed at relatives who want to spend time in a relaxed atmosphere with or without «their» person with dementia. Have a coffee, eat a piece of cake, browse a (specialist) book, have an interesting conversation or simply be there. There is always at least one specialist on site. Participants receive information first-hand and/or exchange views with other relatives. You decide for yourself what feels right at the moment. You can come if: you are worried about a relative whom you believe may possibly have dementia. The family doctor has expressed a suspected diagnosis and referred you to the Memory Clinic. After the diagnosis (e.g. in a Memory Clinic), you want support in organising everyday life for the person concerned. As a caring or supporting relative, you feel exhausted, resigned, angry or sad. You want personal advice on topics such as care, nursing or support with dementia. You simply feel the need to talk. The team looks forward to your visit. Lead: Regula Birnstiel, qualified social worker and experienced relative carer or Beatrice Derungs, social support worker (deputy). The information and exchange afternoon is a free event series mainly for relatives of people with dementia and other interested parties. It can also be about: talking about your own situation, getting feedback on it, arrangements and possible next steps, moving from uncertainty to a possible diagnosis, suggestions for talks, courses, one-to-one advice.
