The Stiftung Umwelt Arena came up with the idea, and the exhibition partners realised it in 2022 in Urdorf in a pioneering residential development: the BAUEN 2050 housing project, which is 50% more energy efficient than a comparable new build. As a non-profit foundation, the Umwelt Arena makes these innovations available to the wider public. Individual visitors get answers in the exhibition areas to questions such as «How can I save energy myself? How is biogas produced?» or «What does it feel like to drive an electric vehicle?» School pupils benefit from career paths and treasure hunts; guided tours are offered for groups.
