1st Chamber Concert – Romance & Resonance

このスポットについて
To open the 1st Chamber Concert, Swiss pianist Oliver Schnyder performs with musicians from argovia philharmonic Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor. In response to the development of German chamber music, the composer succeeded in creating a piece full of warmth and optimism. Vitality and balance in all the parts make the work a masterpiece of chamber music to this day. Almost half a century later, Ernst von Dohnányi composed the Sextet in C major op. 37 for clarinet, horn, violin, viola, cello and piano. Above all, its closeness to Brahms is a defining feature of the whole work in both form and style. The movements stand out for their different characters – from the sonata in the first movement to the marching Adagio of the intermezzo and the finale with clear hints of jazz. Programme: Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor op. 15 Ernst von Dohnányi (1877–1960) Sextet in C major op. 37 for clarinet, horn, violin, viola, cello and piano With: Oliver Schnyder, piano Musicians from argovia philharmonic
