This summer, the famous whale of the Museum of Natural History Fribourg is the first object to move to the museum’s future site on Zeughausstrasse. There, the historic specimen of a fin whale will wait patiently until the new museum opens its doors to the public at the end of 2028. To make the farewell easier and honour this marine giant of over 170 years, the museum has launched the competition «Our Whale in Miniature Form» and called on people to create three-dimensional depictions of the whale. The participants have exceeded the boldest expectations with their imaginative sculptures! Around 120 works can be discovered in the exhibition designed by the agency wapico, including the winning pieces awarded by a specialist jury.
