Only every 50 years is the open-air play «Die Blutbuche» performed in Grosshöchstetten, and only on one evening, because at the end of the play the tree is felled. Director Frau Gut reaches her limits: municipal president Kellenberger stays stubborn, the extras Hans and Heiri get tongue-tied, and Herrn Schön does not care about traditions. Everyone talks past one another. When Schön resorts to radical means in the dispute, more than just the theatre is at stake. The seventh production from schön&gut offers witty satire, imagination, wordplay, song and role changes – and perhaps a completely new story.
