Park pioneers, researchers, travellers, professional photographers and park rangers – they have all left behind a fantastic collection of photographs in the park’s history of more than 100 years. We selected a few dozen of these images and, over the past two years, rephotographed them at the exact same locations. Using the before-and-after image pairs, we show how the landscape has changed over the past 111 years. We also tell exciting stories. Thanks to the full protection of species and processes, nature can develop freely in the national park. That makes it ever wilder and ever more interesting. We invite you to take a close look at this development towards more «wildness». You will be amazed at what there is to discover.
