In the village centre of Herisau, in a typical old Appenzell house, the puppet theatre museum lets visitors immerse themselves in the imaginative, colourful world of puppet theatre. Across three floors, there are various marionettes, hand puppets and other figures to discover, as well as plenty of fascinating things to learn. Each year, a different Swiss stage is featured. The annual exhibition is complemented by thematic presentations from the in-house collection, so you can keep discovering and exploring new facets of puppet theatre. The museum can be reserved exclusively on request; guided tours for groups with or without an apéro can also be booked. Strolchi is waiting for young visitors The cat Strolchi accompanies children through the house on a lovingly designed play-and-discovery trail with interactive stations, and lets them become puppeteers themselves. The exhibitions are also available in French and English. Admission prices: adults CHF 8.00, children CHF 5.00, families CHF 20.00 Admission is free for children from the cantons of AR and SG.
