Vira

Vira is a part of the municipality of Gambarogno. The village is located in Ticino on the northeastern shore of Lake Maggiore. Behind the village stretches the 1738 m high mountain Gambarogno. A path winds up the mountain from Vira to the mountain pass Alpe du Neggia. The pass is located at 1395 m above sea level and continues to the Veddasca Valley. This is already because of the indescribably beautiful view a great destination for hiking and mountain bike tours. The entire region enchants with charming lakeside promenades, Mediterranean flair, camellia and magnolia blossoms and panoramic views over the lake and mountains. Along the lakeshore are several small villages to stop and stroll
