Spiez is located on a promontory on a picturesque bay of the southern Lake Thun. There is a landing stage of the BLS Schifffahrt here. The most important sight in the village is Spiez Castle. It was built around 1200 and has a spacious castle park. In the castle's museum there are rooms that bear witness to life in the 13th to 18th centuries.
