What sights are there in Schaffhausen?

Schaffhausen has a very worth seeing old town. 300 oriels can be found on the well-preserved houses. The church St. Johann was also founded like the monastery already at the beginning of the 11th century. Also in the old town are numerous fountains worth seeing. The Miunot fortress became the town's landmark, although it was used only once to protect the town of Schaffhausen. Two well-preserved towers and a gate remind of the old city wall.

Which destinations can be found around Schaffhausen?

Only about 2.5 km from Schaffhausen, the Rhine Falls is a popular destination. Day tourists also come here by bus or boat. The former Säckelamtshüsli at 543 meters above sea level serves as a beautiful vantage point into the surrounding area. It is located on the northern edge of the city and offers a good view to the west, south and east.
