Reichenbach in the kander valley
Reichenbach im Kandertal belongs to the administrative district Frutigen-Niedersimmental. The valley and the village "Kiental" also belong to the municipality. Altogether the area stretches between the peaks of the Blüemlisalp (3664 m above sea level) and the Niesen (2362 m above sea level). The lowest point is between them at about 650 m a.s.l. Reichenbach im Kandertal has about 120 alpine farms where sheep and cattle are kept in summer. the Kiental, which belongs to the municipal area, is very popular with mountain hikers.
