In the once strictly secret, legendary Gotthard fortress lies the unique Sasso San Gottardo museum with its two sections: "Exhibitions": Mythos Gotthard, Kristallkaverne, Wunderkammer, Energiekaverne, Lichtshow Wasserscheide Gotthard, as well as the first and only permanent exhibition on Goethe in Switzerland and his three trips to the Gotthard. On the main tour, you can, in addition to the exhibitions, travel by the Metro del Sasso into the "historical fortress". Deep inside the mountain, you’ll find troop accommodation, cannon positions and ammunition magazines preserved in their original state.
