Description
The Diavolo via ferrata takes you through the historic Schöllenen Gorge near Andermatt. With a guide, you start the route at the Devil’s Bridge close to the Suvorov Monument. Along the way, you are secured by cables, ladders, and iron bridges.
The route runs high above ground and leads you up to a viewpoint. From there, you can enjoy views over the valley and the surroundings of the Schöllenen Gorge. Afterwards, you descend back towards Nätschen and continue on to Andermatt.
From Nätschen, you can either take the train back or walk down to Andermatt via the zigzag path.
Practical Information
- The best place to park is at Andermatt station. There are large paid daily parking lots there, and it's also perfect to travel by train.
- From the station, you can enjoy a leisurely 20-minute walk through the Urner Loch down into the Schöllenen Gorge towards the Devil's Bridge.
- The via ferrata itself starts right next to the historic Suworow Monument, which is located directly by the Devil's Bridge.
