Melide
Melide is a municipality in the Lugano district of the canton of Ticino. It lies on the southern shore of Lake Lugano, right at the foot of Monte San Salvatore. The compact settlement stretches between the lakeside, hillside slopes, and the causeway connection to Bissone, which carries both the main traffic route and the railway and motorway links. Melide is part of the Lugano Region holiday area and offers a lakeside promenade, a public lido, and various leisure activities on the water and in the surrounding hills. It is best known for Swissminiatur, an open-air museum featuring detailed miniature models of important Swiss buildings and landscapes.
