Leuk

Leuk is located in the Swiss Rhone Valley and has a history of over 4000 years. The historic center of Leuk features medieval buildings such as a pentagonal town hall. The Gothic church of St. Stephen has a 20-meter skull wall in the ossuary. The former bishop's castle dates from the early Romanesque period of the 11th century and was extensively restored by the Ticino star architect Mario Botta. The Dala tower stands on the road between Leuk and Varen above the Dala gorge.

“Amazing time. Money well spent on guide with my travel companion not interested in this activity I was thankful I had someone with me encouraging me and giving me so much historical and local history. I just wish I had known I needed my wallet to on the adventure. I had no idea it didn’t end anywhere near the start! Ithink communication should be improved so tourists know you need to plan your way back UP to the starting point to retrieve your belongings or return your rental shoes, etc. Options area) $7 1way cable car ticket UP to Murren, or 45 min hike back UP to Murren. This was not clear for anyone in our group.”
