The open-air museum shows more than 100 historical buildings and house landscapes reconstructed in the original from all regions of Switzerland. Rural crafts and ancillary trades are demonstrated here. Hofstetten bei Brienz is situated at the foot of the Brienzer Rothorn on a plateau with little traffic. Besides many hiking possibilities, there is the nearby Lake Brienz for bathing and water sports enthusiasts. It is only 10 minutes away by bus.
