Description

Enjoy the beautiful nature around Lake Walen and cycle with an e-bike through the charming villages and along the lake path. Stop at three fantastic restaurants to savour starter, main course, and dessert.

The experience begins as soon as you pick up your e-bike at Intersport Network in Unterterzen. The recommended start time is 10:00 am. Then you ride towards Mühlehorn through picturesque locations, enjoying stunning views along the way.

At the lake restaurant Zur Brauerei in Mühlehorn, you’ll pause for your starter. Afterwards, continue to Weesen, where the delicious main course awaits you at Restaurant Flyhof with a view of Lake Walen. Then, take the boat across the fjord-like lake back to Unterterzen. Here, return your e-bike and finish off your trip with dessert at Restaurant Marina Walensee.

Bicycles are registered for these routes with the Walensee Ferry Services. If the departure time changes, you need to inform Walensee Ferry Services by phone (Tel. 081 720 34 34, press 2 on weekends & public holidays).

Restaurants

Starter at the Lake Restaurant by the Brewery, Mühlehorn:

  • Mixed leaf salad bouquet with house dressing, served with:
  • Spring rolls or
  • Fried prawns or
  • Crispy pike-perch bites

From April 3, 2026, until around June 11, 2026, starters (available from 11:45 AM) will be served at Restaurant Flyhof in Weesen.

  • Carrot ginger soup with lemon oil and chives or
  • Flyhof salad: Green leaf salads with carrot, beetroot, apple, and seeds, tossed in our house sauce or
  • Green salad with house sauce

Main course at Restaurant Flyhof:

  • Baked beetroot falafel on couscous salad with vegetables, dates, roasted cashew nuts, pomegranate seeds, and seasoned with oriental spices, topped with fresh mint and yogurt or
  • Cheese burger with house sauce, alpine cheese, tomato, pickled cucumber, salad leaves, served with French fries or
  • Pan-fried corn-fed chicken breast with French fries, mixed vegetables, and a rich jus

Please note that seasonal variations may apply.

From October 1 to 18, 2026, main courses will be served at the Lake Restaurant by the Brewery, Mühlehorn.

  • Autumn-style vegetarian plate with spaetzle, red cabbage, chestnuts, Brussels sprouts, and cranberry apple or
  • Venison stew with spaetzle, red cabbage, chestnuts, Brussels sprouts, and cranberry apple or
  • Pan-fried trout fillets with buttered rice and market vegetables

Dessert at Marina Walensee, Unterterzen

  • 2 scoops of ice cream of your choice with cream or
  • Coffee Affogato

Swiss Activity Tips

Want to spend a little more time at the stunning Walensee? Then we recommend visiting the small Mediterranean village of Quinten. This car-free wine village sits right on the lake, offering picture-perfect scenery and peaceful tranquility. You can either walk to Quinten or take a boat. The village also has great restaurants for a lovely, relaxed lunch or dinner.
