Finhaut

Finhaut is a municipality in the French-speaking part of the Valais region. It is located in the upper Trient Valley, named after the river of the same name. Four mountain peaks (2674 to 2838 m above sea level) form the border with France to the west and enclose a valley. The Lac du Vieux Emosson is dammed up here. It forms the upper basin and the Lac d'Emosson reservoir forms the lower basin 300 m lower down at 1930 m above sea level. On the path to the Col des Corbeaux at 2400 m above sea level, you can see well-preserved footprints of archosaurs. Three small railroads provide access to the hiking area around the reservoirs.

“We had an absolute wonderful time! This company is one of the best. They were very prepared and professional, even providing us lockers, water shoes, and water jackets. The equipment was high quality and made the paddling very easy. The guide was very knowledgeable and took the tour at the groups pace. We never felt rushed or bored. Excellent activity and 10 out of 10 would recommend to others.”
