Description
The cable car takes about ten minutes to ascend from Dallenwil to the high plateau Wirzweli. At 1200 meters above sea level, you experience a fully natural mountain environment with hiking trails and panoramic views. There are playgrounds, animal enclosures, and walking paths here.
The witch trail leads to numerous educational stations among trees and paths. An especially thrilling experience is the 535-meter summer toboggan run with numerous curves. A walk along the owl trail reveals native owl species and wooden art along peaceful paths.

Wirzweli Panorama Loop
- From Wirzweli, an easy path leads over Wirzweli Horn to Gummenalp with stunning views. The return trail goes through meadows and the Wetterhexenweg back to the mountain station.
- Duration: 3:30 hours
Wirzweli Loop Gummenalp
- This year-round accessible loop of moderate difficulty starts at the Wirzweli mountain station. It passes through meadows to Horn (1475 m), then along the Wirzweli ridge to Gummenalp and through the Dürrenboden forest back to the starting point, passing Eggwald-Gummenalp valley station.
- Duration: 2:30 hours

Owl trail: loop suitable for wheelchairs
- The owl trail is recommended. This loop starts directly at the Wirzweli mountain station and is designed to be accessible.
- The path is paved and flat, making it suitable for wheelchairs. Along the trail, there are attractive bridges and artistic wooden figures that enhance the walk.
- The route passes through a quiet woodland landscape, ideal for a relaxed nature break.
- Allocate around 30 - 45 minutes.
Travel with a wheelchair
- The cable car is wheelchair accessible and makes reaching the high plateau easier.
- Some paths from Wirzweli are well-drivable, but steeper routes may not be suitable.
Travel with a stroller
- The wide, well-maintained paths on the high plateau are suitable for strollers.
- Steeper or narrower paths should be avoided.
- Rest areas and play opportunities are available along the main routes.
Traveling with a dog
- Dogs are allowed on the Wirzweli gondola if they are leashed and do not disturb other passengers.
- A dog ticket is required for dogs over 30 cm shoulder height.
- Dogs are permitted on hiking trails from Wirzweli. Leash rules apply on alpine paths and in forested areas.
- There are numerous drinking spots for dogs en route.
