About this place

The Sankt-Gotthard-Pass at a glance The Sankt-Gotthard-Pass lies at 2,106 metres above sea level and links Hospental in the canton of Uri with Airolo in Ticino. Since the Middle Ages, the route has been considered an important north-south connection. At the summit, you will find a historic hospice, the St. Gotthard-Museum and the Sasso San Gottardo fortress. The pass is usually open from May to October.
