Cultural-Historical Museum Grenchen
About this place
From farming village to technology city: the Cultural-Historical Museum Grenchen tells the story of industrialisation and its consequences using the town and region of Grenchen as an example. The focus is on the lives and work of people in industry and on their impact on everyday life. In 1999, the museum opened in the former Rainschulhaus on the Absyte. After a conversion and redesign in 2019, the museum is now a modern platform for communicating the history of the Grenchen region and a meeting place for young and old. A museum for children and families: the mascot "Tick-Tack" invites children to explore the exhibitions playfully (interactive stations, games, dressing up, crafting, etc.). Bring your lessons to the museum too! We offer fixed modules for primary and secondary school.
