Während Jahrhunderten wanderten die Safier mit Vieh und Ware über den Glaspass zum Marktort Thusis. Walserniederlassungen in Inner und Usser Glas und Tschappina. Am Fusse des Piz Beverin liegt die aufgegebene Walsersiedlung Masügg, heute Alpgebiet.
