Description
The bus ride from Grindelwald to Bussalp takes you up to 1800 m above sea level amid the impressive Grindelwald mountain scenery. The line offers a convenient and direct route into the hiking paradise, where a cozy mountain restaurant with a large sun terrace and unbeatable views of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau awaits.
The route is especially popular in summer, when you can start numerous hikes from here. Buses run several times a day and are ideal for families, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Traveling with a wheelchair or stroller
- The Grindelwaldbus is wheelchair accessible with low-floor entry and features a wheelchair ramp for easier access.
- Wheelchairs up to a maximum length of 1.20 meters and a total weight of up to 250 kg are permitted.
- Boarding and alighting are via the second bus door, and it is recommended to book the journey in advance so staff can assist if needed.
- Strollers can be brought along without issues.
Traveling with a dog
- Dogs are allowed on the buses, usually with a leash requirement.
- Small dogs up to 30 cm are free if kept in a transport container throughout the journey. The container must fit under your seat.
- Dogs without containers and all dogs taller than 30 cm require a valid dog ticket: half-price for second class or the minimum fare (dog day ticket, dog pass). They must sit under the seat to avoid blocking the aisle for other travelers.
