Description
With this ticket you will experience a T2 scale mountain hike. The necessary train tickets on the way are already included in the ticket
Stages of the round hike:
- Ristis can be reached by cable car from Engelberg. It is a 65-passenger cable car and takes about 3 minutes to Ristis
- From Ristis you hike to the Brunnihütte at the Härzlisee or take the chairlift. However, you still have to buy this ticket (preferential price upon presentation of the Walenpfad ticket)
- Hike along the nature trail to Alp Rosenbold (1863 m above sea level).
- Hike down to Walenalp (1673 m above sea level) with a wide view of the Mittelland.
- Steep ascent (300 hm) to Walegg (1943 m above sea level). Here is the highest vantage point of the Walenpfad hike. You can see the Bannalpsee and the surrounding peaks particularly beautifully.
- The path now leads steeply downhill over the alp Oberfeld (1826 m above sea level) and the Urnerstaffel (1693 m above sea level). Only at the Walengräben does it go up again briefly at the beginning
- You reach the Bannalp and the cable car Fell-Chrüzhütte, which takes you to Oberrickenbach.
- In Oberrickenbach the post bus is waiting to take you to Wolfenschiessen to the Zentralbahn.

Swiss Activities Tip
At the alp Oberfeld the Walenpfad is almost done and if you still feel like it and have some strength left, it is worth taking a detour to the wonderfully blue Bannalpsee. There are fireplaces here. If you prefer to stop for a bite to eat, the Bannalpsee mountain inn is located on the other side of the lake.
