Description

In the Avalanche Basic Course at the Alpinschule Adelboden, you will learn the fundamentals of assessing avalanche situations based on the avalanche bulletin. You will be trained in the use of the avalanche transceiver (LVS) and learn how to determine slope inclinations.

Furthermore, you will find out how to react properly after a snow slab failure. Under the guidance of a mountain guide, you will learn to assess risks to make future tours and freeride descents safer.

Important information

You need sufficient fitness for an ascent of approx. 1 hour (ski/snowboard) or a walking time of approx. 1 to 2 hours (snowshoes)
Meeting point: 09:00 at the Bergführer-Stübli of the mountaineering school, Bonderlenstrasse 8, 3715 Adelboden (Oey bus stop, arrival at 08:56); course ends at approx. 17:00
Group course with 4 to 8 participants per mountain guide. If there are too few registrations, the mountaineering school will offer the course as a private course by arrangement (surcharge according to the private rate)
